A protected feed's settings page can enter a license key again: it posted to /api/licenses/attach, where the feed's unlock cookie is never sent, and was refused. It now posts and deletes under /<feed>/license. A new key also replaces a lapsed (refunded or run-out) license on the feed instead of being refused until the old one is detached.
